And let’s not forget our 4 new potatoes who made it official today. Only one of them told me about their ride so they must be silent assassins – crossing that finish line in stealth mode. Holy Potato leads off the group with 128.0 miles and a new magnet. Mot Tot came in with 103.09 miles and some tired legs. Spudly was just behind with 102 miles while Tracie Tots found a Peloton on vacay to finish up her ride with a little extra coming in at 100.11 miles. Congratulations to all of you on your century plus!
30 taters make up our “30 or less to go” group today. I’m sure some of them will be earning a magnet tomorrow. Potato Happenings
Here’s what our potatoes have going on today. Please keep the stories coming – we love to hear about your rides as you get closer to that century mark. Or in some cases – you have far surpassed it. Decapotato is over 350 miles (and no Spanish lesson today) and Marshmallow Fluff Potato is over 250 miles.
We had potatoes indoors: Chip-n-Dale – Did the Templeman Recovery Ride through Valparaiso, Chile as he closes in on 200 miles. Yogatato – Beat the heat with a post yoga ride on the P! Yo’Potato – Another day stuck indoors on the spin bike due to weather but enjoyed a 40 minute augmented reality ride with Les Mills The Trip! Yam Kronen – Rain from the hurricane reach middle Illinois so me and my little potato are spinning indoors. MelaTater – Still on the Peleton in Whitefish.
And potatoes braving the elements: Spud Cool – Mythical Patata and I rode the C&O canal to Mile 0 and back! So bumpy! Seafaring Spud – Road around our historic town of McLean VA. Past Hickory Hill, the Kennedy Estate, CIA HQ and Langley Ordinary which was both a HQ and hospital during the Civil War. Of course I breezed past copious deer families and some foxes. Wolfpack Tater claims to have seen a groundhog but I was not that observant. Nashed Potato – I squeezed in a short ride in between waves of rain. Green Eggs & Yam – Hot, damn hot!
Administrivia
Our potatoes have pedaled 11706.55 miles toward that 30,000 mile goal (only 18293.45 to go). We have 152 potatoes pedaling and 50 potatoes on the couch. Three more off the couch today so a few less DUD spuds in training.
