This is what we have entered as of this evening. Pedaling continues until midnight tonight so I will get the final race report published on Wednesday, July 24th! Nine more potatoes have made it over the finish line to be official. Congratulations to all of them on the achievement.
Fry Fry Baby was hanging at 97 miles for a while and got over that finish line today to earn a magnet with 113.8 miles. Tubular Tater is also done after we kept an eye out for this finish as well – 110.5 miles in the books. Sour Mash Spud crossed the century mark today with 105.09 miles and a new magnet. Tottin’ Terry (102.18 miles) and Racing Spud (102.0 miles) were neck and neck across the finish line to sneak in on the final day.
Lenko Latkes with 101.4 miles tells us “I much prefer a ride to somewhere, but I pushed myself to do 22 miles to finish. Next year, maybe start a little earlier so 55 miles does not have to be done in 2 days. Eek!” – whatever it takes, right 🙂
Spuddy Holly is one mile past the finish line for a magnet with 101.0 miles – another official potato added to our ranks. Microchip checks in with 100.4 miles and reports “Across the finish line! Thank you once again for doing this and motivating me to put in the miles!” Also done for another magnet is Gator Bait Tater, finishing up with 100.34 miles.
Potato Happenings
In other Potato Happenings we had a group of potatoes reporting in after pedaling together – sounds like they had a great ride and finished it off with a festive beverage: Spudly – Had a beautiful ride on the Va Capital Trail with Yogatato, Pump Up the Yam and Buck-A-Spud. Buck-A-Spud – Had a great final Tour de Couch Potato ride on the Virginia Capital Trail with Pump up the Yam, Spudly, and Yogatato! Yogatato – Finished the TdCP at Billsburg Brewery after an awesome Capital Trail Ride with fellow yogis, Buck-A-Spud, Pump Up the Yam and Spudly. I was 4 miles away from 250 so rode the P for a few minutes when I got home. As always, thank you Madam T for the fun and inspiration! Pump up the Yam – A leisurely day of riding the Virginia Capital Trail with the missus aka Buck-a-Spud, Yogatato and Spudly (should make him Twice Baked) to finish off a grand time. Again. Beer at the end didn’t hurt…They all checked in with us!
Here’s what everyone else had to tell us: Potato Chip Rock – Thank you once again for hosting this fun event! Golly D Tater – A big THANK YOU. Toni the Spud – Kentucky has been a scenic yet challenging place to cycle due to the excessive hills! I’m just one strong potato now! Irish Spud – Another terrific Tour! Thank You Madam Tuber! Christmas Potato – Thanks for another great year! Loch Ness Potato – Thanks for a great Tour! Mythical Patata – Started the Bon Ton Roulet in the finger lakes- any other potatoes here?? Bumble Spud – Fun! Thank you for running this event. You Be YAmeen – D YAmeen and I did 25.01 miles together as a team. Buck a Spud and Pump up the Yam rode 30 plus miles which made Buck a Spud a Thrice baked potato and Tuberville was headed out for a spin to see if she could become a Thrice Baked Potato. Holy Potato had to retrieve her cat so she spent time on the road in a car . Milby Crisps and Toni and Potato and Holy Potato are all twice baked. It’s been fun riding the Tour this year. Thanks

Administrivia
Several of you said thank you – and I hope enjoyed yourselves. On behalf of my sister (Duchess Potato) and I, we want to thank you all as well for making this as fun for us as it is for you. More about that in our final report out that comes on Wednesday.
Remember, pedaling stops at midnight tonight and you should enter all miles by 11:59 PM ET tomorrow. Please verify your miles at the link below prior to the end of Le Tour! If you see any issues, please let us know via email (letourdecouchpotato@gmail.com) before the mile entry deadline.
Our potatoes have pedaled 22811.23 miles so far. We didn’t get our 30K goal but WOW – that’s some miles. With our 28 potatoes still pedaling, we do have 41 spuds that didn’t get off the couch.
I will get the final race report published on Wednesday, July 24th!

Happy Pedaling,
Madam Tuber
Thank you very much for organizing the Le Tour de Couch Potato Bike Race. It does challenge me to do better and I did a few more miles than last year.
