Day 15:Look at those Potatoes Cross the Finish

Once again we have 11 taters making it official today. All that pedaling brought us to 15,512.8 miles. I bet there are a lot of tired butts out there. With these 11, we are at 66 official potatoes. There are 154 potatoes are off the couch (we added one) and then there’s the DUD SPUDS – don’t become a DUD.

Our new magnets go to: StarchTrek with 146.0 miles. Just 10 behind is Yamurai with 136.0 miles. Mac Tattie is next with 108.9 miles followed by Castro Tato with 106.6 miles. La Nuova Patata has another magnet with 105.3 miles. Yours Truly (Madam Tuber) finished with 103.6 miles. We have a bunch of spuds at the 102 mile mark: New Potato and Seafaring Spud both finished with 102.5 miles while Harley Taterson finished with 102.2 miles. Just crossing the line are Casey at the Bat Potato (100.7 miles) and Dr. Potato Head with 100.0 miles exactly. Be sure to check out the Hall of Fame to see how many magnets our potatoes have earned: Hall of Fame

Pedaling by the numbers: As predicted, several of those we shouted out yesterday in the 90s are now done so today we’re going to check in on our 80s friends again. Only a couple of rides for these taters and their done – let’s cheer them on. CycoTater and Campbell’s Potato Soup are neck and neck with 89.5 and 89.4 miles done. Microchip is slightly ahead of The Spudster and Uetz Chips. They have 88.7, 88.4, and 88.3 miles respectively. Spudapalooza is hanging out at 85.1 miles. Then we run into a small breakaway, in front of the Peloton: Spudly (81.8 miles), Commissioner Potato and Disorderly Tater (both at 81.7 miles), I Do Potato (81.1 miles), finally Betty Crocker Tater and 50 in 50 Potato (80.8 miles). Whew – big group with less than 20 miles to go. Look for these potatoes to grab that magnet soon.

Because I can: Watch out for Duchess Potato. She and I are the only one’s who have finished every Le Tour. I’m done (haha) – will she make it with 37.3 miles so far?

Congratulations to Fry Alicia, Good luck to Grape Tater Here’s what y’all had to say about your rides:

Fry Alicia-Celebrating 35 years of marriage in Paso Robles CA so my son and his Girlfriend surprised me and joined us on a nice rolling ride around the vineyards here…now time for a little tasting!

Potato Chip Rock-rain broke the smoke, yeah! But now its too wet to ride outside so rode 35 on the Peloton

Chip-n-Dale-Delicate Arch VO2 Max Interval Ride.

How to Train Your Tater-Nice ride

Harley Taterson-Well……the smoke forced me into finishing the 100 mile tour today with my indoor cycle class from 9-10am. But…………I’m continuing to add miles in coming weeks as the Eastern Shore MD weather improves and I’m back on the back roads of Talbot County!

Grape Tater-Last ride before I hit the road for a week. Fingers crossed for hotels with stationary bikes!

Mac Tattie-Rode the Belgian cobbles with Christian Van de Velde on peloton!

Castro Tato-Trails at JD were riding great after last night’s rain!! No sand-surfing today!

Swisher Sweet Potato-A wild turkey ran ahead of us on the road for a bit; a gaggle of white and brown-speckled geese honked at us from a ditch; and a crop duster plane flew right over our heads several times! Interesting day!
